Prostate cancer

Around 1 in 8 men will face prostate cancer. I didn’t think I’d be one of them at 45.

This November, I thought I’d be celebrating seven years cancer free (since 2018). Instead, two weeks ago I was told I have prostate cancer. No symptoms. Seemingly unrelated to previous cancer. Just a routine PSA blood test I asked for after turning 45, my first one. It came back slightly elevated—and that simple check set the ball rolling.

What started as growing a tache for Movember fundraising has now become something bigger: conversations about prostate checks, cancer awareness, and general health.
